Pantry Door Perfection! As you look to elevate your kitchen with a stunning Frosted Glass Pantry Door, we’ll share the 4 crucial things you need to know! In this conversation we’ll help you navigate the things you should consider when thinking about incorporating Glass Pantry Doors, into your home.
Are Frosted Glass Doors for Pantries Customizable?
Here at Sans Soucie endless customization in the world of Frosted Glass is what we’re all about! From our Hand Sandblasting Glass Effects, to our Glass Finishes, and more, we can create the Pantry Door of your wildest DREAM! Let’s get started…
Glass Finishes (Background)
Traditionally Glass Pantry Doors are known for having a Frosted Glass Finish, or also known as a background. However, we believe in moving beyond just the “basic” Frosted Glass Pantry Door, and exploring other stylish options! Our 3 most popular Glass Finishes include: Clear, Gluechip, and Frosted.
Each of these distinct finishes will provide a different privacy level for your kitchen’s Glass Pantry Doors. Continue reading more about each one and see which Glass Finish would work best for your home and space.
Clear Glass finish
Our Clear Glass Finish is just that- Clear, plain, and smooth! It also means that any frosted design on this finish will make the overall Pantry Door semi-private at best. There will always be some portion of the Clear Glass that will be left with some visibility.
Gluechip Glass Finish
The Gluechip Glass Finish is a textured design that resembles frost or a fern-like pattern, creating a sparkling effect. This finish makes your Pantry Door semi-private, as objects behind it appear blurred when positioned 10-12 inches away from the glass. Additionally, each design element is surrounded by a clear pinstripe measuring 1/8 inch.
Frosted Glass Finish
The translucent quality of the Frosted Glass Finish adds a soft, diffused glow, enhancing the brightness of a space. It allows natural light to filter through while maintaining complete privacy. Objects can only be seen when pressed directly against the glass, but become invisible when a few inches away.
Glass Effects
Our Glass Effects are just some of the elements that set us apart, and that allow us to make your Glass Pantry Doors TRULY custom! They include our 1D, 2D, or 3D (solid or enhanced) Glass Effects.
Each of these effects will give your Pantry Door design a variety of looks and overall feel. The Glass Effect you choose will also impact the cost of your door. But, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your desired Pantry Door, just because of the price tag. Therefore, our Glass Effect options can help you stay within budget! It’s a win-win!
Are Frosted Glass Doors Easy to Clean and Maintain?
Yes! To be honest any common household glass cleaner will do, but let’s dive a littler deeper as to what that means. I think we can all agree that sometimes the most beautiful pieces of furniture, don’t necessarily mean functionality. When it comes to Cleaning and Maintaining your custom Glass Pantry Door, you’ll simply clean it like you would any other plain glass.
All your Pantry Door will need is a gentle wiping, by using light pressure and a quality glass cleaner (such as “Windex”). Using a microfiber towel is the best option, but paper towels are fine too. Just keep in mind that paper towels can leave behind traces of lint.
Also, small “darkened areas” appearing on your glass may occur overtime, due to oils getting onto the surface from fingerprints. But don’t panic! These spots can be removed with a regular glass cleaner. And, if your spots seem to be stubborn, you can try a pure clear acetone or lacquer thinner.
Glass Pantry Door With A Painted Design
If your Glass Pantry Door design includes painted elements, you’re going to want to only dust those 3D painted areas regularly!
However, if there’s any area of your Pantry Door’s Glass that becomes soiled/dirty, you will first want to clean the area using plain, warm water on a microfiber towel. Remember, to wipe gently to avoid scratching or rubbing off any of your Design’s paint. This can happen as a result of aggressive and harsh scrubbing!
And, just like the non-painted glass designs previously discussed, you can use a small amount of regular glass cleaner on a towel, to lightly wipe any area that has oil spots. But, you can NEVER apply acetone to any of the painted areas!
Can I install a Frosted Glass Pantry Door myself, or do I need professional help?
When it comes to installing a Frosted Glass Pantry Door we recommend that you hire professional help. You’ve spent precious time creating the perfect Frosted Glass Pantry Door, so it only makes sense to have the pros delicately install it with precision and care.
Here is what we recommend below:
- Visit the BBB website. They have a list of qualified glazing contractors that are both accredited and non-accredited.
